We've seen this sign many times as we've driven on Fall Creek and wondered who Bishop Garfield T. Haywood was. It turns out that he was born in Greencastle and moved to Indianapolis as a child. He founded the Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly. There are some nice pictures of him breaking ground for the Fall Creek location here. He passed away in 1931. Now we know.
