Wow, first they gave us Mad Men and, now, it looks like AMC might give us The Walking Dead, one of Mr. WYA!'s favorite graphic novels. We always thought that TCM was the superior movie channel (and it continues to be for the classics that we love) but we like the direction AMC is going in these days.

Long time readers know that we're big fans of AMC's Mad Men so we're quite excited about the premiere of the third season on August 16th. If you're a fan too, here's a fun link to recreate yourself in swanky '60s style. Pictured here are Mrs. WYA! (that's right coming into the office with a martini) and Mr. WYA! who has coffee because they had the "happy to serve you" Greek cup that Mr. WYA! likes to get when we're in New York.

Pre-Code Musicals on TCM tonight

Oh we love those spicy films that filled the cinemas before the Hays Code was enforced in 1934. TCM is airing an evening of Pre-Code Musicals tonight including several Busby Berkeley films and films with stars like Bette Davis and Ann Sothern. We have not one but two boxed set collections of Busby Berkeley movies so we're obviously big fans of the genre and look forward to seeing the films we don't own.

Got what it takes to be The Food Network's Next Food Network Star? There's an open casting call in Chicago on July 12th.

Here's a good link for the rundown of the Memorial Day Weekend TV marathons. The best bets to us look like Band of Brothers (we love that miniseries) on the History Channel and all of the military movies on TCM.

Rocky & Bullwinkle!

It is hard to find anyone who airs The Bullwinkle Show so we were so excited to discover that WGN America does (even if it is at midnight). If you are a fan of Moose and Squirrel along with Fractured Fairy Tales, set your DVR or VCR for midnight tonight.

We LOVED Dave Ramsey's Town Hall for Hope last night and hope you watched it too. If you missed it, Fox Business Channel will re-air it this weekend.

Very cool- AMC has 27 full B movies available to watch online. It looks like we have our Friday night all set; we just need to decide if it will be Reform School Girl or Corridors of Blood.

Ft. Wayne and Plymouth, IN fans of Amazing Race have an opportunity to ride their bike with host Phil Keoghan in their own city as he makes his way through during his Ride Across America.

Friday Night Lights fans will want to check out this Vanity Fair Q&A with Taylor Kitsch (Tim Riggins).

Here's an interesting round-up of what Anthony Bourdain thinks of the various cooking/cooking competition shows. We too worry about the host of Man Vs. Food.

The Seinfeld cast is reuniting on the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. This almost makes us wish that we still had HBO.

If you're feeling nostalgic, WFYI is showing the special Indy in the 50s tonight at 7:30P.

Attention all you fellow Chris Isaak fans: as if it wasn't exciting enough to get a new CD from him this week, he has a talk/music show starting tonight on the Bio Channel.

We got caught up on Top Chef over the weekend- go Fabio!!

There are lots of options on Sunday if the Super Bowl isn't your cup of tea or you just want to watch something else besides the pre-show all day. We always love the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet and we will probably tune into some of the I Love Lucy marathon on The Hallmark Channel. Some of the options are very clever; there's the Super Bawl on WE with a line-up of tear-jerker movies and the Toilet Bowl on the DIY network with a marathon of Bathroom Renovations and Bathtastic!. USA Today has a rundown of all of the offerings.

Oh, we miss Mad Men. Vanity Fair has some lovely photos of January Jones, the lovely and damaged Mrs. Draper.

Oprah certainly doesn't need us to promote her but Mrs. WYA! did enjoy her webcast about spirituality. The webcast can be downloaded for free on iTunes or on Oprah's website. Mrs. WYA! describes herself as spiritual but not religious so this panel really grabbed her interest and it might yours too. If you are aware of a spiritual center in Indy that isn't affiliated with a particular religion but is open to all spiritual seekers (along the line of Oprah panel member Dr. Beckwith's Agape), please let us know.

The webcasts with Dr. Oz, Suze Orman, and Bob Greene were also very interesting.

TCM Remembers 2008

Mrs. WYA! knows that she tends to lean toward the nostalgic, sentimental side but the end of the year TCM Remembers montages bring tears to her eyes every year. This year's features the beautiful but melancholy song God Only Knows by Joe Henry.

More links to things to watch in case you need to escape to the Internet when you just can't spend anymore time with your relatives. Here's a great guide to You Tube Classic Christmas shows (because we'll bet that you haven't watched the Mr. Ed Christmas episode yet).
