Stuckey's- Exit 130 I-65

That's right, we're not above raving about a travel plaza. There is a precious Stuckey's on I-65 and, even though we don't frequently have occasion to drive that way, sometimes we make a point of driving there just to visit Stuckey's. It's integrated with the Marathon station which is connected to a Starbucks. Here is one of our favorite things to do. When we are in a New Orleans mood, we head to Stuckey's to buy a pecan praline. We then take that to Starbucks and get espressos. We happily sit at the Starbucks off of the interstate, close our eyes, and let our taste buds help us imagine that we are in the French Quarter. The super sweet praline was just made to be paired with a strong espresso. The combination is sublime, like beans and corn bread as Louis Jordan would say. What's so special about Stuckey's? If they aren't part of your childhood memory, all you need to know is that they've been around since 1937 and their pecan log rolls are legendary.
