Free Comic Book Day on May 2nd!

Once again, the good folks that still crank out comic books give you a chance to reconnect for FREE. This year, expect an Avengers (these titles have been amazingly hot and once again relevant for the times), Star Wars, Simpsons, and a good old Archie title among others. You can hit the website for more details, but come on, they are FREE! How much research do you need to do?

Indianapolis has an amazing number of comic stores to choose from; Downtown Comics has several locations and Comic Carnival on east Washington is a cool, funky combo of comics, figurines, old movies on DVD and a variety of other oddities (they have a couple of other locations too).

I didn't get a chance to grab a free comic this year but was surprised to see that several people were hyped about it as comics seem to have declined in the more recent years from what I've seen.

Oh well, only about 363 days to go until the next one...

Mr. WYA! goes to the comic store every week and usually buys at least one title. We're not sure about actual sales numbers as far as a decline in recent years.

I was a little dazed from walking the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. On the ten block walk back to my truck I was handed an Archie comic book. It brightened my spirits considerably.
