Fort Wayne Botanical Conservatory

It's amazing how fast the years fly by but, over a decade ago, we were married here. We actually were both in a wedding here the year before that and that is how we met (syrupy and corny, huh?). Anyway, Mrs. WYA! was taking in the yuletide spirit in downtown Ft. Wayne over the Thanksgiving weekend and the Conservatory looked lovely for the holidays. At this time of year, it is just nice to walk in and smell plants growing. The poinsettias were lovely and the old truck from the '30s was cute. We even liked the desert room all lit up for the holidays- maybe a warm Christmas in the southwest would be nice. There were adorable little displays with animated elves busily working in that room too. Their holiday display runs through January 4th but there is always something pretty to see here.

Hello Mr. WYA!

I remember when the Conservatory was built! How old do I feel?!

I have good memories of the place myself. When I worked at Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne, every Christmas, Ian Rolland would have the Choraliers (that was the voluntary company seasonal singers), sing there for special events.

It was loads of fun and it was nice to spend some quality time with Ian and his wife.
