Sugar Cream Pie as Indiana's official state pie? Really? We are native Hoosiers and have never had this and, actually, aren't sure if we've ever heard about it before. Evidently, we've been missing out.

My gram made it (and loved it). I don't like super sweet things, so I refused to try it. Now that I'm older, I wish I'd given it a go.

Yea, it definitely looks sweet!

It tastes pretty similar to a custard pie with some nutmeg. I've never really found them to be overly sweet. I love them...

Sugar cream pie is not my favorite, but it is definitely worth a try. It is kind of humorous to read from the IndyStar:

"The Indiana Senate approved a resolution Thursday urging that the sugar cream pie be named the state's official pie."

Apparently, the Indiana Senate takes their pies very seriously :)

It's a staple at funeral dinners and church suppers.
