Patel Brothers Grocery

We were pretty sure that the restaurant Tadkaa was not in business anymore because, when we went to the Indy Ethnic Foods site, there was no longer a Liberian listing. We drove by just to be sure and they were closed but, we couldn't resist checking out the Patel Brothers Grocery next door to it. We had never been there before, and we were in a bit of a hurry to get to our Plan B lunch spot, so we perused it quickly and vowed to go back when we had more time. We couldn't get anything frozen since we weren't going straight home but there were fascinating things like "violet yams". There was also a huge variety of flours and we wished that we were more savvy about Indian cooking. We picked up some exotic ramen packages and some coffee that looks like it will super strong. We have tried the curry ramen and it was incredibly hot- a little too hot for us. We were surprised to see on their receipt that they have a website and even further surprised to find out that it is a chain. It once again proved that they have the most interesting food stuff on the west side.
