If we were in town this weekend, we'd be at the 7th Annual Lavender Festival at Willowfield on Saturday, June 21st. Since we are still in Manhattan, the best that we can do is to encourage you to go. We checked it out last year for the first time and it was just as lovely as it sounds. We packed a picnic basket, took the drive to Mooresville, bought some of their dreamy lavender shortbread cookies and lavender mint iced tea, and plopped ourselves under a tree. Afterwards, we roamed through the lavender fields and imagined that this must be a pretty sublime place to live. This year, Ann McWilliams (one of our favorites) will perform with Luke Austin Daugherty from 2PM-5PM. Once you fall in love with the tea, you can buy some to take home at their gift shop, along with bath and body products, sachets, art and all kinds of goodies. This is a lovely way to spend a Saturday.
