Scenes from... Roanoke, IN

Just because Kevin over at Urban Indy is such a faithful reader and frequently leaves us good comments, we went a little out of our way during our Father's Day trip to Fort Wayne to snap these pics of Roanoke, IN just for him. They have a short downtown Main St. but it is adorable. It is impeccably decorated with flowers and the highlight is Joseph Decuis restaurant. You might have seen Joseph Decuis listed in Indianapolis Monthly. That is because it is so wonderful that they know it is worth it for Central Indiana residents to drive there for a great meal in an elegant setting. They have several dining rooms, all of which are beautiful, that you must take a gander at on their website. Also pictured is that rarest of all Northeastern Indiana sightings- a hill! There is fun bike riding around this area just west of Ft. Wayne.

Thanks much! I'm glad that it's attempting to keep up appearances, and the fact that it's only 15 miles from Fort Wayne doesn't hurt.

If you wanna see a real hilly town, check out Wabash. You probably have been their already, but it probably has the steepest downtown in ALL of Indiana. I can't think of any towns in Southern Indiana that are that hilly; they seem to be built in flatter areas. However, I haven't been everywhere down there.
