We always love seafood, but we especially love it when the temperatures start to rise and we need something light to eat. Here are helpful sites from the Blue Ocean Institute and the Monterey Bay Aquarium that have guides to sustainable seafood choices.

Long time readers know that we're big fans of AMC's Mad Men so we're quite excited about the premiere of the third season on August 16th. If you're a fan too, here's a fun link to recreate yourself in swanky '60s style. Pictured here are Mrs. WYA! As if enough of our time doesn't get sucked into the computer; now TCM has a Media Room page with 350 pages of movie clips, trailers, and featurettes. Old movie fans and those who want to become more familiar with old movies will want to take a look.

One thing we like to do when planning a trip is to find out what the great, local, indie restaurants are- those gems that might not be listed on the Convention & Visitors Bureaus' website. We try to find blogs from locals to get ideas and we just found a blog with an extensive guide to food blogs broken down by state. Not only is Columbus Foodie a good resource but it is a great blog that makes us want to take a road trip to Ohio. The state by state guide is in the left column.

Mrs. WYA! and our Pomeranian's antics have recently become fodder for the newspaper- not a real newspaper but via this website that lets you generate your own front page story.

New Neko Case on March 3rd but hear it now

You've gotta love NPR. We can't wait for Neko Case's new CD and are so grateful that NPR has the whole thing available to listen to on their website.

Mrs. WYA! would love it if Mr. WYA! would start reading his favorite Marvel comics digitally to reduce the clutter of the paper comic books. There's a subscription fee to get access to thousands of comics online but here's a free one with Captain America, Spider-Man, and Abe Lincoln.

Yoga Today

Prefer to be in the privacy of your own home while you are in Down Dog or just need a lot of variety and scheduling flexibility to do yoga? Mrs. WYA! discovered the website Yoga Today a couple of years ago and can't recommend it enough. There are streaming classes from 3 different instructors. There's a new one everyday and they leave up the classes for a few days. Can you believe it is all free? The classes are really good too and at varying levels of difficulty. You'll learn something from each teacher but Mrs. WYA! is partial to Neesha.

By the way, if you're wondering how we made that upside down exclamation point in the previous post, we used the Flip Title website. You just type what you want turned upside down and then you can copy/paste it.

We used to have a link to the Fort Wayne based A Beautiful City blog but they've decided to not renew their web hosting service. You can, however, still check them out on Facebook.

Back in the day, Grandma or Mom was our Google. "How do I sew on a shirt button?" "When can I transplant my flowers?" Well, if you're lucky, you still have your relatives as resources. If they're gone, out of touch, don't know (or are tired of your incessant questions), you can always head to Monkeysee.com for tons of videos explaining everything from winterizing your car to highlighting your own hair.

More links to things to watch in case you need to escape to the Internet when you just can't spend anymore time with your relatives. Here's a great guide to You Tube Classic Christmas shows (because we'll bet that you haven't watched the Mr. Ed Christmas episode yet).

Don't you love it when you remember something from your childhood and, voila, there it is on You Tube? We were so happy to find Bedtime for Sniffles where cute Sniffles the mouse tries to wait up for Santa. We are so grateful that our hometowns' respective local stations showed Merrie Melodies when we were growing up (and we feel sorry for kids who are missing out on them nowadays).

We have several of the Christmas specials that we love on DVD but not all of them. We aren't always on top of finding out when the specials are on TV but this site has a pretty good collection of not only the classics (and we would be remiss if we didn't mention that The Year Without a Santa Claus should be on "The Essentials" list; c'mon Snow Miser and Heat Miser are icons) but also Christmas episodes of sitcoms (Ozzie and Harriet- SWEET!), cartoon favorites like Scooby Doo and Justice League, music videos, Christmas commercials, and other miscellaneous yuletide goodies.

We were in New York City at Christmas time last year so believe us when we say that this is a much more blissful way to watch the skaters at the Rockefeller skating rink. We think it is lovely enough to leave on in the background during your holiday parties.

Wine Blog

Remember to check out Indiana artists and crafters on Etsy for your holiday shopping. You can support Hoosiers while giving a really unique gift. We have fond memories of Jenny Elkins' store that used to be on Mass Ave (if memory serves us correctly) and we think that we even went through her studio during a Cottage Home Neighborhood Tour. Anyway, she has a page here. We also really like Fort Wayne's Todd Young's paintings which can be purchased for only $10!! Another Fort Wayne artist, has some beautiful photos for $28. Pink Grapefruit Style has all kinds of fascinating goodies including some vintage stuff that we love. These low prices eliminate that "original art is too expensive to buy" excuse. These are just a few of the sellers; there are 10 pages that come up for Indiana. Just go to Etsy's homepage, click the "buy" tab at the top, click the "shop local" box that comes up in the list, and then type in Indiana to see how much talent and creativity our state has.

We've had flowering tea before but not this hibiscus flower syrup for champagne (or sparkling water). This would really increase the wow factor of a holiday party. It is available on the interesting Epicure Pantry website but also on Amazon. We are also fascinated by Epicure Pantry's Salt Candle Holder. We might have to pick that up.
