Dreaming of Paris? Lucky enough to have an upcoming trip there? Dash out to your favorite newsstand/bookstore for the September issue of Gourmet Magazine. It's the "Paris on a Budget" issue where they find "50 fabulous meals for under $50" which is especially staggering considering the dollar's value abroad nowadays. We are hoping to go to Paris in 2010 so we are tucking our copy away for future reference.

I was in Paris last fall, and I can't recommend a trip to Berthillon for ice cream highly enough. It's truly among the best foods I've ever tasted. I was sketchy about a (fairly small) bowl of ice cream for $9, but it was worth every penny.
I also recommend Eric Kayser pastries and a trip to Paul for lunch. Eric Kayser is thought to be the best baker in Paris, but I preferred the baguette at Paul.
In any case, have fun and bon appetit! :)
