Happy Father's Day and Summer Solstice. Hopefully, you're celebrating with (or remembering) a great Dad today and yogis might want to celebrate the Solstice by doing 108 Sun Salutations (yow!). Mrs. WYA! can't help but wistfully think about this day last year when she was doing yoga in the middle of Times Square.

We noticed this artsy receptacle as we were at the 4-way stop at Westfield and Guilford. This is why, despite the crowds, crazy traffic, and then trend of high end boutiques instead of bohemian shops, Broad Ripple is still charming.

Scenes from... The Central Canal Towpath

We love walking the Central Canal Towpath because we're almost always sure to see turtles.

We love this house seen from the Towpath.

There must be some wild nights in the canal because we see colorings on the water fowl here that we don't see anywhere else.

We named this one "Chocolate".

We enjoyed a stroll along part of the Central Canal Towpath yesterday afternoon. We usually park at the canal in Broad Ripple and make it to the Butler campus before we decide it's time to turn around. We like admiring the homes of Rocky Ripple and watching the turtles float by.

Sad story about 20th Century Props in the New York Times but some really cool looking stuff at their Ebay store (with more to come in an upcoming auction- we'll take the Marilyn Monroe armchair).

Super Salve and Think Before You Pink

We've recently become hooked on Super Salve's Power Repair Vitamin C Solution. We like that the products at Super Salve are developed by a clinical herbologist (read her story here) and that the products are made from organically farmed herbs, essential oils, butters, and waxes. It was through Super Salve's website that we learned about Think Before You Pink, an interesting organization striving to help consumers not get misled by pink ribbons used in marketing campaigns by companies that actually might be manufacturing products that are linked to breast cancer. Their website is a worthy read.

No chains? We like the way Bloomington thinks.

Get the Knots Out at The Wellness Space in Broad Ripple

The exterior taken from the much appreciated parking lot they have. The interior of one of the rooms.

We are frugal and tend to think of massage as a very rare treat but, after a visit to The Wellness Space, we've decided that we should have it done more regularly. Mrs. WYA! chose this cute place on Ferguson St. from the many choices in Indianapolis to get a massage because it was ranked so highly on Channel 6's A-List. She and a friend had appointments for a hot stone massage and an integrated massage. Tasha did the hot stone massage alternating between using her hands and warm smooth stones. Ashley provided the integrated massage focusing on the trouble spots with expert intensity. These were not the gentle, only what feels good kind of massages that your loved one might give you. Where there's a trouble area, the therapists got deep into it so there was that hurts-so-good type of feeling. They said that we would be sore later, which was true, and that a bath with apple cider vinegar would help. We always use epsom salts to soak in when our muscles are sore but we did like the apple cider vinegar bath. In addition to getting great massages, it was a really comfortable environment. We're not into pretension so we liked that it was in a beautiful old house, that the therapists were casual and easy-going, and that there was no heavy pressure selling for future appointments. Mrs. WYA! realizes now how therapeutic this is and will definitely be back to the Wellness Space (once the soreness subsides).
