Starbucks in the old McMahon Tire Building- Fort Wayne, IN

Despite the fact that it is a chain, we have to applaud Starbucks for their downtown Fort Wayne location. This cute building used to be McMahon Tire building and was built in 1929. It was on the endangered structures list at one point but Starbucks moved in and even kept the integrity of the art deco building. We hope that the completion of Parkview Field downtown will bring them even more business.

An old favorite and a new find from Gilchrist & Soames

We blogged about Gilchrist & Soames a few weeks ago which got us to thinking that we haven't placed an order with this Indianapolis based company in awhile. Mrs. WYA! ordered her old favorite the rich, luxurious, subtly scented Vitamin E Body Lotion. She noticed that there was a new line called BeeKind so she ordered a bottle of that body lotion too. It is extremely rare for her to buy a scented product sight-unseen (or rather, smell- unsmelled?) but she trusts Gilchrist & Soames. There's nothing like finding out you have your choice from several free samples once you start the check-out process to make you happy about patronizing a place as well. In this photo, the small bottle is the free sample that we chose, Essentiel Elements Wake Up Rosemary Body Lotion which has a stimulating (but not too strong) mint smell. Anyway, the order came and the smell of BeeKind is wonderful. It has extracts of clover, honey, chamomile, and calendula which can be hard to imagine without smelling it. The description that came to Mrs. WYA!'s mind upon first sniff was that it smells like a summer morning. On top of that, there are no parabens, phthalates, or artificial colors. Furthermore, a portion of the proceeds support honey bee and sustainable pollination research.

If you pay with Mastercard, check out this site for a Gilchrist & Soames promo code that worked like a charm for us.

Ahh fellow Midwesterners, how long have we been waiting for these 60 degree temperatures and to see the flowers popping up? We'd say that it's been worth the wait but we don't quite believe that.

The Seinfeld cast is reuniting on the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. This almost makes us wish that we still had HBO.

This might be the perfect motivator to get us to finally check out the Earth House. One of our favorite local singers, Ann McWilliams, will be playing there on Saturday, March 14th. Check out her Tour Page for more spring dates and locations.

Oh the trailer for Public Enemies looks so good (even if Johnny Depp as Dillinger says "I've got nothing I want to do in Indiana").
Gallery 116 in Fishers is celebrating their 7th anniversary this Friday and Saturday, March 6th and 7th, from 10AM-6PM with discounts and refreshments. They've renovated their shop (including expanding the "discount dungeon") and you can enter to win a free room makeover.
