We just learned about the woman who wrote the book that one of our favorite Christmas specials is based on,
The Year Without A Santa Claus. Phyllis McGinley was known for her glowing poetry about 1950s/60s suburbia.
Here's an interesting article about her which explains how her poetry is a sharp contrast to the representations of the era given to us by
Mad Men and the new movie
Revolutionary Road (which is opening in Indy when????).
